Recreation Strategic Action Plan
The role of the Recreation Department is to continually develop, implement and manage a recreation system that reflects the needs of community residents. The department also provides leadership, training and evaluation for any future recreation staff. Responsibilities include developing the community recreation delivery system (after-school program, special events, games, lotteries and BINGO), strengthening partnerships with community groups and partner agencies (territorial and national), overseeing community radio services and coordinating recreation facility development, management and maintenance (arena and community hall). Other duties include daily administration and advising the Recreation Committee on relevant matters.
