Search & Rescue

Clyde River Search and Rescue is led by an 8-member committee and complimented by thirty-nine (39) volunteers who carry out search and rescue mission to locals and visitors who are in distress or imminent danger while out on the land.

The search and rescue operation is primarily funded by Nunavut Emergency Management (NEM) to cover such expenses as food, fuel, and equipment repairs. From time to time it receives federal funding to acquire capital items such as a search/rescue boat and quonset.

If you are travelling out on the land, please stop by the Search and Rescue Office (located at the New Hamlet Building) to borrow a SPOT device.
