Airport Operations and Maintenance

The Hamlet recently entered another 3-year contract with the Department of Economic Development & Transportation, Government of Nunavut (GN) to maintain and operate the equipment and facilities at the Clyde River Airport.

We are committed to providing the level of service standards agreed upon and  have personnel in place to manage a range of procedures including foreign object debris (FOD) detection, wildlife management, the handling of weather implications and incident responses.  Many of these directly impact the safety of passengers and staff and therefore are incredibly important for the day-to-day operations of the airport.

Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, extra precautionary steps are being taken to ensure that more frequent and thorough sanitization is done at the airport.

If you have any concerns or wish to share suggestions, please contact James Arreak, Senior Administrative Officer at 867 924 6220.
