Bingo and Bonanza Games

Feel like you have a winning streak? Enjoy playing bingo and bonanza as a favourite pastime?  The hamlet holds Bingo and 50-50 Bonanza Games every Thursday.

Cards are available for purchase at the Community Hall between the hours of 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Game commences at 7 p.m.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp Details

Registration    Three Programs Every two weeks

Monday June 29, 2020 – Friday July 10, 2020

Monday July 13, 2020 –  Friday July 24, 2020

Monday July 27, 2020 – Friday August 7, 2020

Camp Hours

Programs run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays). Summer camp will not run on  July 1, 2020, July 9, 2020 and August 3, 2020.

Age Requirements

The age group for the summer camp is 5-15 years.  Only children who are 5 years of age at the start of program will be permitted to participate in any camp program.

Children with a Special Need or Health Condition

If your child has a special need and/or requires support while attending camp, please contact 867-924-6220 ext. 209 to discuss options for ensuring a successful camp experience for your child. Calls placed early allow staff more time to coordinate and prepare assistance.

Learning Inuit Games

​The Inuit Games program allow participants to learn Inuit games including high kicks, musk ox fight, leg wrestling and knuckle hop. The target group for this program is 13-17 year old. This activity will run for 20 weeks starting in the Fall.

Parka and Snow Pants Tutorials

The sewing program targets students aged 13-17 and it will run over 8 weeks during the winter. There will be two 4-week programs covering 60 hours of instructions/participation.

Square Dancing

The square-dancing program targets 13-20 year old who will be taught several styles of Inuit dancing. This activity will be held for 2 hours per week over a 20-week period during the winter.

Throat Singing Tutorials

Throat singing tutorials will help participants (aged 13-17 years) to learn Inuit style throat singing and its cultural significance to residents in the community and the region. The tutorials will run three times per week for 20 weeks in three (3) one-hour sessions.

Inuit Traditional Tool Making

This program targets 13-17 years old who will be taught how to make tools such as ulu, unaaq (harpoons), sakku (harpoon heads) and niksik (hooks). There will be two 4-week programs covering 60 hours of instructions/participation.

Movie Nights/Dance

Wish to test/improve your dancing skills or do you just want to have some fun? Love watching a classic, action, drama movie with family/friends? Join us at the Community Hall.

Dance and movies are held alternately every Friday evening. Gates open at 8:00 p.m.
