Snow Clearing

Hamlet public work staff consistently work to maintain and provide safe routes of travel during the winter for about 12 km of public roads within the community.  Snow clearing routes are determined and laid out according to traffic patterns and in accordance with accepted Hamlet guidelines. Public work staff is also responsible for clearing snow from access points to water and sewage inlets on your premises.

Snow Clearing Priorities

The list below indicates order of priority for clearing snow after an adverse weather event. The safety of staff and others are at the forefront of the Hamlet’s snow clearing practices and informs the timelines within which snow clearing is carried out.

Priority 1 – Main Road from Municipal Garage to Health Centre

Priority 2 – Road Leading to/from Airport

Priority 3 – All other roads
